Position Summary

This position is within HARMAN’s Professional Division, based in Shenzhen Development Center (SDC). Job Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will lead a group of 30-40 engineers and technicians, working in a collaborative environment to provide Technician, ECAD, MCAD and Regulatory Compliance services to the NPI team.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving daily activities through the team, as well as providing hands-on development work as necessary.  There will also be assignments for departmental systems and processes that advance engineering efficiency, communications, and data management.

 

  • Assign and supervise test and validation resources to ensure Harman products meet design and quality requirements before shipment to customers.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of document control and CAD tools to enable rapid and flexible NPI activity in Harman Pro
  • Primary R&D site is Shenzhen, China, with secondary site in Budapest, Hungary and CoC’s located in Europe and USA
  • Coordinate global document control and CAD requirements impacting NPI Engineering teams
  • Work with SDC leadership, IT Business Unit Integration Director and IT System administrators to develop support requirements
  • Manage CAD requirements for Harman Professional including license requirements
  • Manage distribution of CAD tools to Engineering, evaluate test and schedule all software updates to engineering supported tools
  • Set individual and departmental goals and provide performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Manage deliverable schedules and design times to meet product delivery, cost, quality, and reliability requirements.
  • Maintain and grow engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.  
  • Develop and refine departmental workflows, tools, and processes to continuously improve time-to-market, product quality, and innovation.
  • Mentor direct reports and provide challenging assignments to grow individual and team skills.
  • Lead test and validation activities for assigned programs to ensure that products meet HARMAN specifications and that program milestones are achieved.

 

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or an Engineering Discipline required
  • Configuration management certification a plus
  • 6+ years management experience, preferably including PLM and Engineering tools
  • Experience with ERP interfaces as relating to Engineering requirements
  • Ability to adapt to a global working environment
  • Experience with both MCAD and ECAD design tools: preferably SolidWorks and Mentor DxDesigner Suite.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to manage decentralized teams
  • Excellent time management and communication, decision-making, presentation and organizational skills

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel locally 10% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in Shenzhen, PRC.
  • Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test.
