Sr Compliance Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for identifying and completing worldwide Regulatory and Compliance reguirements. The selected employee will work with multiple internal functional teams (such as engineering, sourcing, operations, and others) as well as external customers, suppliers, and service providers/agencies (such as UL, FCC, CQC, MIC, VCCI) to insure that our products comply with, are certified to (where required), and maintain compliance with the appropriate domestic and international product standards and regulations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages the evaluation of new development projects in accordance with the worldwide directives and standards.  Works closely with engineers to provide technical advice regarding product safety, wireless, environmental, and EMC compliance issues.
  • Initiates and manages product submittals to Product Safety, EMC, wireless, and enviornmental authorities and agencies for evaluation, testing, and certification.  Works with engineering and third party agencies to identify and produce solutions to noncompliances.

 

  • Coordinates and hosts factory inspections and audits of our production facility together with Quality department.  Contributing in development of compliance related production procedures and testing.

 

  • Reviews components, products, and suppliers certifications and test reports to verify their validity and correctness to ensure all necessary requirements are met; provide recommendations and risk analysis for use in products and release to sales.

 

  • Conducts in-house product testing, supports factory audits and survelience activities related to product certification.

 

  • Assists suppliers and customers in understanding and obtaining necessary certifications and qualifications.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in electronics or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience working in compliance and regulatory related position.
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment and working with test equipment or working with IEC60950 and IEC60065.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Understanding of regulatory process, including wireless, safety, CB-Scheme, LVD, EMCD, RED, NRTL, FCC/IC, CCC, SRRC, and others.
  • Ability to communicate precisely across cultural and global boundaries.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Sharepoint.
  • Fluency in written and oral English.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electronics or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of worldwide wireless requirements, testing, and certifications.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • Understanding of environmental requirements such as RoHS, REACH, Energy Star.
  • Experience with LabView and other laboratory automation and test software.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in Shenzhen, PRC.
