Product Manager, Microphones & Headphones 1 1

Position Summary:

The professional division is looking for a product management expert to manage microphone and headphone portfolio. The product manager requires a solid working knowledge of various product development models including:  in-house, OEM, ODM and joint development. This person will be expected to identify potential products, conduct market research, generate product requirements, determine product specifications,  and pricing by working with the CSUs and regional sales teams.


Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position does not have any direct or indirect reports.


Job Responsibilities:

The product manager will work closely with the V.P. of Product & Program Management to develop portfolio strategies in line with the long-term strategic vision for this segment.  The product manager should have an in depth working knowledge of these products and their application.  Essential responsibilities will include:

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Supports CSU solutions managers and regional sales directors in the product messaging and launch of new products including train-the-trainer activities.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs, and anticipating volume by consolidating input from CSUs and regional sales organizations.
  • Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Basic Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of the various types of microphones as well as application knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of the professional headphone market and their applications including studio, broadcast, DJ, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of wireless microphone RF technologies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution


Eligibility Requirements: List specific location of position and % of willingness to travel

  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Shenzhen, China
