Position Summary:

A Marketing Solutions Manager is a problem finder, a disrupter, an innovator and an experience creator; your market expertise in Restaurant & Retail will enable the delivery of a strong market strategy for Product Management to execute.  The primary goal is to devise new solutions through the development of audio, video, lighting and control products as well as combining new and existing products to provide full end-to-end solutions that serve the market and adapt to new and upcoming industry trends.  You will be responsible for global market strategy and supporting marketing from a products and solutions perspective for Restaurant & Retail.

A key regular deliverable will be the Solutions and Products roadmap for the Restaurant & Retail market that will put Harman Professional at the forefront of all customer’s minds when they think about any technology they require for their spaces.  Harman Professional has a rich history at being a market leader in many areas and the aim is for the future roadmaps to define the future and to ensure Harman remains number one and a leader.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate global market needs through focused interaction with customers, including but not limited to corporate, franchise, and dealerships.  Systematically develop and evaluate opportunities for new products or line extensions.  Establish solution line direction for each market and help prioritize projects for development.
  • Develop initial business case for new solution/product development investments, including needs analysis, competitive analysis, and revenue and profit projections. Also, identify and assess business model and regional differentiators, and necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive and market forces affecting product line through effective networking and research.  In partnership with the Product Managers, manage solution line direction through an ongoing assessment of current products, pricing, and positioning. 
  • Monitor and analyze current solution sales to understand how existing solutions are performing.  Develop actions and strategies to maximize opportunities for existing solutions.
  • Work with Marketing Strategy and Marketing Communication teams to develop launch plans for new solutions globally.
  • Regular two-way communication with all Harman Professional Regional and Country Offices to ensure they have full support on Business Development activities and to enable feedback of market needs for solutions development.
  • Together with your team, support in subject matter expertise with pre and post sales teams, with ability to translate technical data into digestible sales and marketing communication aides.
  • Communicate with broad range of stakeholders, including integrators, end-users, R&D personnel, operations, project management and C-level executives, on a business case basis and in public speaking situations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, business or related industry field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in the Restaurant & Retail industry
  • Successful candidate will have global knowledge and understanding of customers, products, architecture and workflows, competitive offerings and market drivers within Restaurant & Retail.
  • Knowledge of audio, video, lighting and control systems for Restaurant & Retail would be an advantage.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented, with proven experience managing change orientation
  • Excellent internal and customer-facing communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Managerial experience preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • Additional industry qualifications preferred

     

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel
  • Willingness to work in an office, this position is based in Shenzhen, China.
