Position Summary:

HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. As a member of our team, your primary roles will be to perform testing of high-end Audio systems. Identify software and hardware issues and track in an issue tracking system.  Manage the setup of equipment/wiring and test equipment appropriately.  

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Perform software and unit testing, exploratory testing and software verification
  1. Applies specifications, user guides, use cases, comparable products, and previous known bugs to maintain plans, test designs, and test cases.
  1. Assist customers or developers to debug systems
  1. Perform regression tests to stress test systems and help maintain/update defects database with a defect tracking tool
  1. Identify software issues and transfer problem issues into the issue tracking system with supporting log files and data

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
  • Degree must be in a related area of work with courses in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Previous entry-level work experience strongly preferred
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders
  • Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Must provide work availability from May 2019 – August 2019 and be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Strongly prefer candidates who live within a commutable distance
  • Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
  • Must provide proper work authorization

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Shelton CT.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation, drug screen, and DMV background check.
