Engineer, DSP

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Responsible for DSP software development & validation including requirements analysis, customer support, and interface between customer and engineers in other countries.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Participate DSP software programming with Global Development team

 

  1. Analyze and modify existing DSP software for troubleshooting.

 

  1. Understand customer and internal requirements and specifications for Engine Sound Synthesis, Engine Order Cancellation and Road Noise Cancellation projects

 

  1. Summarize Customer Requirement Specification for internal project teams

 

  1. Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate DSP software development. This includes travelling abroad for workshops and coordination meetings.

 

  1. Work closely with customer and provide technical support

 

 

OTHER DUTIES:

 

Completes other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education

BSCS, BSEE or equivalent minimum requirement.  Advanced engineering degree desired.

 

Experience

Must have 5+ years experience in software development in C/C++

Must have Audio/Multimedia/DSP software development experience

Must have excellent communication skill in English (written and verbal)

Active Noise Cancellation background is a plus.

Hands-on DSP experience required. ADI SHARC or Griffin DSP is a plus.

Automotive CAN experience preferred.

Automotive experience, Hyundai and Kia experience preferred

HW development and/or troubleshooting experience preferred

Test Engineering experience preferred

Automotive industry or other QS9000 compliant work experience preferred.

 

Working Knowledge

Audio DSP experience desired; Microcontroller experience desired; Real-time OS experience required. I2C, RS232, other serial interface experience desired; Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment desired.
