Senior Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  •  To support research and design activities by the development and implementation of structured test strategies of core design portfolios, of which are in alignment with strategic customer satisfaction targets and internal cost structure.
  • To support research and design activities by actively driving Design for Test guidelines into new product designs, ensuring optimized test coverage and cost
  • To work with outside contracted vendors for the definition of testing requirements, validation plans for said tests systems, and defining their ongoing monitoring and verification activities
  • To drive continuous improvement in the way the test systems are developed and managed, and ensure that the personnel using the test facilities receive adequate training and support.



Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required, and 5-years previous experience in electrical design or test engineering preferred.  Experience working with audio equipment is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in problem solving using data driven, fact-based, systematic problem methods.
  • Possess an understanding of the fundamental concepts of math and algebra, as well as probability and statistics.  Apply concepts to practical, everyday problem-solving situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Some lifting or moving of items >50 lbs. occasionally required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock but exposure is within OSHA's standard requirements.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and within OSHA's standard requirements.  Occasionally, testing will involve exposure to sound pressure levels which will require OSHA-approved hearing protection.

  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time
