Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct support to Harman Infotainment programs, Audio programs, and SQE Business Unit Interface (BUIs) concerning supplier Design Validation (DV) issues, Process Validation (PV) issues, supplier build issues, and supplier launch issues for assigned global suppliers.
  • Interfaces with global Harman Supplier Quality offices to coordinate Supplier Quality program support.
  • Drive supplier improvements in quality systems and performance through the utilization of clear and effective data-driven measurements and statistical methods.
  • Perform supplier site visits/audits to assess supplier’s quality management systems, processes, and technical abilities.
  • Perform Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with module, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), electronic component, wire harness, electro-mechanical, and other electronic manufacturing suppliers.
  • Review PPAP submissions for compliance to technical and quality requirements.
  • Work within Harman cross functional project teams to ensure that purchased parts comply with specifications throughout the production life cycle.
  • Work with Harman manufacturing plants, engineering, and sourcing to resolve supplier problems.
  • Review supplier problem solving activities and failure analysis reports, drive improvements in responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Other activities as required by the Sr. Quality Manager.

  • Engineering Degree (electrical or equivalent)
  • Supplier Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, and/or Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge
  • Quality System, measuring equipment, electronic systems.
  • 5 years of prior experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing techniques and equipment to include modules, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), electronic component, wire harness, electro-mechanical, and other electronic manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with statistical methods, problem solving methodologies, PPAP, FMEA, measurement system assessment (MSA), and automotive quality management systems.
  • Experience in auditing suppliers for conformance to quality standards.
  • English 90%.
