Position Summary:


The position of SMT Process Engineering is responsible for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all related manufacturing equipment & processes required to manufacture a high quality product in a repeatable and cost effective manner. As such, the successful candidate must have background and experience in SMT manufacturing processes, programming and support of automated placement systems. Responsible of the management of new launches, transfer of lines, increase capacity and layout improvements. Improvement ideas development to get process optimization, increase capacity and cost reduction, through continuous improvement. Innovative strategies deployment by applying the Harman Production System philosophy.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


As a part of the supervisory responsibilities, if there is not an employee to attend the process, the direct boss will have to attend the process or assign the activities to another employee (with equal qualifications).


Job Responsibilities:

  • Increasing productivity through the support and leadership of people, processes, and technology
  • Evaluates, implements, and monitors processes and operating systems for the manufacture of printed circuit boards
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving factory processes and related metrics, such as production efficiency, cycle times, capacity, capabilities, and others as needed.
  • Provides “on the floor” technical support as required for critical process and product issues.
  • Develops and supports new manufacturing processes
  • Attend and coordinate new product launches to comply with the different stages of the project (Sample construction, PRE-PV, PV and SOP Equipment release documentation according to client requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with dead-time goals, default cost, technical problems and key process indicators such as material wastage, hourly components and rapid model changes.
  • Prepares procedures, reports, and plans


Basic Qualifications:

  • Strategic Planning oriented.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, with 2 years of experience in manufacturing areas as Process Engineer.
  • Advance English level 85% (reading and writing that allows fluid presentations).
  • Project Management (New Launches, Transfer of Lines, Increase Capacity, Process Improvements).
  • Risk Analysis oriented.
  • Core Tools knowledge (At least AMEF, CP, MSA, SPC).
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous improvement skills.
  • Process Optimization, Line Balancing, Process Design skills.
  • Conflict Management.
  • Programming solder inspection paste machines (KY brand)
  • Programming X-ray (Matrix)
  • Programming AOI (Saki, Cyberoptics brand)
