ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive and maintain design for Test guidelines into new product designs, ensuring optimized test coverage and cost and identify development activities.

  • Work with external manufacturing partners to define production testing requirements, validation plans for tests systems, and defining their ongoing monitoring and verification activities
  • Drive continuous improvement in the way the test systems are developed and managed, and ensure that the personnel using the test facilities receive adequate training and support.
  • Provide technical expertise & support to engineering and production teams.
  • Analyze project/internal requirements and specifications and translates these into test development specifications.
  • Develop test applications based on test specifications and project requirements.
  • Analyze existing test packages to debug issues, add features or make modifications in test applications.
  • Develop and monitor development of test equipment design and test fixtures design to insure accuracy and standardization in product testing.
  • Support the standardization of test application platform and test equipment. 
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge in electronic design for testability requirement.
  • Knowledge in LabView/TestStand/Process Model test development platform or equivalent platform for test development.
  • Knowledge of different electrical manufacturing test strategies.
  • Able to develop testing tools (including but not limited to communication protocol tool, driver interface either for specific product, device and/or instrument etc) in LabView/TestStand environment via VB, DotNet or other interfaces as appropriate.

 

 Education: MS in electrical engineering or computer engineering.  Would consider a Bachelor degree with proper experience.

Experience: 10 or more years’ experience in electronics testing in high mix products.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in Guadalajara, Mexico.

 

Other: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Physical Demands: Work requires moderate speed and accuracy in a narrow range of simple motion. Work requires handling light weight materials or equipment up to 50 lbs with no special speed or exertion.

 

Working Conditions: Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features.

 

Hazards: Negligible.  Little or no exposure to hazards.
