Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and applying advanced manufacturing engineering test technologies, principles, and concepts to efficiently and successfully support product’s testing at both board and assembly level. Recognized as a technical expert in Manufacturing Test SW&HW system design and deployment while exercising broad knowledge of the design and operation of additional systems and fields. The ideal candidate will demonstrate process critical skills and innovation, and have overall responsibility for the coordination of operational test process improvements. This involves performing analysis of the overall test system (yield, stability, cycle time, etc..), identifying a solution and working with functional teams to drive for improvement.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position might have direct supervisory responsibility (2 to 3), and will serve as a peer coach to technical colleagues and junior technology talent on technical and career possibilities.  The incumbent will also provide Division level mentoring in their respective field of expertise.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and track complex test projects with many contributors, supporting customer driven timing requirements, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring successful delivery for programs and projects
  • Develop, setup, troubleshoot, and maintain test systems (SW&HW) for production to insure accuracy and standardization in product testing.
  • Lead a Test Engineering team to define and create test plans, maintain mandatory test specification documentation, including test strategies, test flow details, equipment requirement, SW Flash stratigies (IC level, board level, and Final assembly level), and test coverage analysis
  • Apply electronics knowledge, including electronic design and manufacturing in the audio and RF field to lead efforts in designing scalable automated test systems capable of testing infotainment products, reducing development time and cost.
  • Conduct technology evaluation and assessment of software and hardware tools, component technologies, and systems.
  • Lead cost reduction and yield improvement activities along the product lifecycle and as product ramps production.
  • Support peer-based schematic, PCB layout design reviews, and lead DFT activities
  • Work with test vendors to ensure RFQ package requirements are met and provide the necessary support to meet time line.
  • Communicates openly and organizes technical discussions as needed


Basic Qualifications:

  • MSEE/MSCE degree or equivalent required
  • Demonstrate proficiency of test system design (SW&HW) with a proven global experience architecting and developing robust test automation, 8+ years of applicable experience.
  • Direct experience with new product introduction (NPI) process developing manufacturing test through multiple product generations.
  • Knowledge in mixed signal embedded HW design, specifically: analog and digital interfaces like SPDIF, LVDS, medium-high audio power amplifier design/test, switching and linear power supplies, RF (BT, WiFi, GPS, Tuner, etc), vehicle communication networks (like CAN, AVC-LAN, MOST, Ethernet AVB, LIN, etc), inter-IC interfaces (like SPI, MLB, I2C, I2S, etc.).
  • Knowledge of IC level programming, and embedded system level programming.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and automation scripting development tools (debugger’s, emulators, compilers, etc.), such as Python, C/C++, Linux and Lua is preferred.
  • Experience with source code version control (Perforce, SVN, etc.).
  • Expert in at least one of the following fields: Embedded SW design (QNX, Android). Infotainment HW design, DFT,  and test  automation. Test development platform (NI LabView/TestStand, .Net), Certified NI LabView/TestStand Architect preffered.      
  • Proactive and Strong problem solving skills in a team environment, capable of duplicating complex software defects
  • Strong understanding of statistical data analysis and Design of Experiment. Certified SSGB preferred.
  • Project coordination and management skills. Certified PMP preffered.
  • Technology leadership skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional global teams in order to deliver objectives

  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Queretaro, MX.
