Assembly Fixture and Tooling Design Engineer

Position Summary:      

Responsible for fixture/tooling of all new products in development phase for delivery for factory at production launch.  Activities include solutions development, new technologies integration, design and manufacturing of tools, fixtures, gauges.  Innovative strategies deployment by applying the HPS philosophy. Technical knowledge sharing through employee trainings.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Development and designs of Fixtures/tooling
  • Fixtures/tooling commissioning and start-up
  • Fixtures/tooling release studies (GRRs, Cpks, Strain and Paint test, etc) according to client requirements.
  • New projects follow-up through detailed documented planning (3D CAD, drawing, BOM’s).
  • Equipment new requirements implementation (Implementation, documentation and standardizing).
  • Successful projects transfer.
  • Successful projects development and implementation.
  • Support to Manufacturing plant.
  • Search continuous training and knowledge growth.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing areas in development and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Computer and Programming skills (G Code programming, Solid Works, CREO Parametric, Inventor, Strain Test Software, CAM Software, Office: Project, Excel, etc.).
  • Mechanical Design Methodologies.
  • Materials Engineering.
  • Statistical analysis of information.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Screwing Processes (torque study)
  • Strain Test.
  • Pneumatics (pistons, valves, joints, manometers, etc)
  • Sensors (laser, capacitive, inductive, magnetics, etc)
  • Advance English level 80% (reading and writing that allows fluid presentations).
  • Problem Solving and Continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability to communicate with other users in a professional, courtious manner.
  • Integrity, Innovation, Inclusion, Excellence, Team Work and Respect.
  • Strategic Planning oriented.

  • Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously without compromising delivery dates.

  • CAM programming skills.
  • Sensors, Electric Valves, IO Signals.
