Position Summary:   A Technical Functional Owner position is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, understanding, and finalizing the assigned customer requirements for specific infotainment functions. This position will ensure that the functionality of specific features are planned, implemented, tested and working flawlessly on schedule and within budget. This role will interface with the customer, software engineers, software project managers, and other team members supporting the specific customer program.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing and understanding of the assigned Customer requirements (CRS) and change requests and for defining/documenting the resulting features in the (Technical Requirements System) TRS-SW
  • Responsible for interfacing with the customer for clarification and approval of all assigned features
  • Responsible for requesting the required resources necessary to implement the promised scope Plan, organize, execute and monitor all aspects of feature development to achieve commitments for delivery, performance, and quality.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers to ensure requirements are agreed upon and met
  • Prepare documents and reports with cross functional teams for engineering and program management along with participating in design reviews with customers and engineering peers.
  • Ensure features meet customer and internal requirements, specifications
  • Release and maintain controlled documents as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Expert in at least one of the following fields: Infotainment, mobile, consumer electronics    
  • Exceptional reputation as an innovator based on having created forward looking research, projects, and award winning publications
  • Proven technical leadership
  • Experience working in the technology industry or automotive industry
  • Experience with the use of rapid prototyping tools for software and hardware, electronics, and mechanical design for consumer electronics and future device platforms
  • Experience with non-traditional input and output technologies, such as speech, gesture, touch, haptics, etc.
  • Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business
  • Minimum educational requirement:  Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years’ experience.  Alternately:
    • Master’s Degree in above mentioned fields and 8 years of experience in research and development
    • PhD degree in Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in corporate or academic research

  • Willingness to work in the Novi, MI office.
