Position Summary: This position is responsible for Product Sourcing for NA Connected Car. This role will act as an advocate for Procurement/Supply-Chain into all relevant functions of HARMAN including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Program management, CBU, Finance, and Manufacturing. In addition, this role will be the voice of the business unit into the Procurement/Supply-Chain organization. This role will report to the Director, NA Connected Car Product Sourcing.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advocate the category strategies within the business during all four (4) phases of product maturity from concept development to production
  • Communicate business requirements and priorities to category management and align Procurement metrics with business unit P&L including translating category cost savings and negotiations
  • Conduct material and supplier risk assessments
  • Support centers-of-competency (CoC) and supplier technology development in the concept phase by developing and implementing Product Sourcing strategies in conjunction with Engineering and category management
  • Lead and develop customer RFQ/RFI BoM and BoL costs and sign-off on stretch targets within the business case in the quote phase
  • Track, monitor and drive actions to ensure material cost targets are achieved during New Product Introduction (NPI) phase
  • Prioritize the business unit requirements and program sourcing in the NPI phase
  • Lead cost reduction workshops and design-to-cost initiatives during the new product development phases
  • Manage production cost reduction measures, including VA-VE, Product Transfers, and productivity initiatives
  • Collaborate successfully with key work partners and maintaining key relationships
  • Deliver KPI’s and implement process improvements

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business
  • 4 years of relevant working experience preferably in the areas of either procurement, engineering, program management, quality, or product development.
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive for results in an ambiguous environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive and NPI experience, preferably with a global organization
  • Infotainment or electronics experience
