Position Summary:

We are extending our ADAS/AD BU, which is working on the most disruptive innovations and new technologies in the context of the advanced driver assistant and the autonomous car.

As an expert for ADAS/AD data collection systems, you will work within Harman’s ADAS/AD BU team, as a key driver behind the development, realization, and evaluation of our multi-sensor platform in one or more of the following fields, relevant for ADAS products and automated vehicles:

  • Definition and realization of the future generations of the data collection sensor platform
  • Managing global data collection campaigns utilizing the multi-sensor platform in order to collect data for verification & validation and environmental modeling
  • Enhancement and evolution of the vehicle integration and event-based recording capabilities, including data stream optimization


Job Responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for the following:

  • Configuration and calibration of different sensors like Camera, Radar, Lidar, GNSS, etc.
  • Installation of the sensors into different vehicles, including the connection to a recording system to capture the data
  • Execute special data collection requests using this sensor platform, as well as instructing other persons to execute defined collection requests.
  • Work with Platform leaders and the testing team to ensure needed resources are available to support and fulfill data collection requests.
  • Work with Functional owners of the ADAS products and the data processing experts to understand the needs of specific data requests and related requirements for the sensor setup on the collection platform.
  • Improving and maintaining the sensor platform in order to fulfill current and future data requests for ADAS and autonomous driving.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • 5 years of professional experience with sensing systems (Lidar, Radar, Camera or GNSS)
  • Strong systems background with at least 2 years experience in automotive or signal processing
  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrix environment
  • Ability to structure and define work packages within the area of responsibility
  • This position includes the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. The employee must be 21 years of age or older and will possess a valid US drivers license


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in the design of sensor systems for automotive applications
  • Working knowledge of functional safety plans for automotive systems, following the requirements of ISO26262
  • Process-oriented while still innovative, flexible, driven, and motivated
  • Great communication skills to effectively promote the technology and interface as needed at all levels of the organization
