Position Summary:

The Manager, Digital Marketing is responsible for leading, developing and executing the success of online activity & community management for HARMAN’s automotive partnerships globally. The position will be expected to deliver results that meet the KPIs of HARMANS digital and social media strategy. In addition, success will be measured by take rates for branded audio through compelling fan engagement within digital & social (owned, earned and paid digital media channels), digital content and telling the brand(s) story through our brand websites to maximize the reach of the HARMAN brands through culture and to passionate audio and music fans everywhere.

 

This role balances marketing experience with technical skills to drive leadership for automotive digital marketing, advertising/media, branding, digital communications, content marketing, and social media. This subject matter expert will work closely with the Digital Marketing, Social Media Sr. Manager and the Senior Director of Car Audio, EU on analytics and execution for all automotive digital & social initiatives, ensuring campaigns/programs are on strategy, on budget, and effectively executed seamlessly. This position is expected to work cross-functionally to coordinate the many processes necessary to develop, implement, execute and manage an effective digital & social media strategy.

 

This role is responsible for leading the Car Audio SBU’s Internet presence, while flawlessly executing the digital strategy and budgets for global markets in coordination with all automotive customer activities. The role is also the interface between the global teams to ensure consistency of message, look and feel of Harman brands whether on the Harman corporate site, our consumer brand sites, or as embedded content on our OEM customer sites.  Additionally, this role will help manage the global marketing content asset bank.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Digital Strategy - Execute our Digital/Social strategy for Car Audio SBU across our owned, earned and paid digital media channels which align with OEM customer launch plans. 
  • Annual Digital Plan - Create and manage marketing budgets for digital/social marketing projects.
  • Content & Site Management - Manage the day-to-day execution of Harman automotive online content development, working with the global product managers, customer marketing managers and agencies to create content, production schedules, and content dissemination plans into the Harman brand website, OEM websites, and HARMAN corporate website.
  • Digital Assets - Drives development, coordination, maintenance and day to day of digital assets and the hub in which they will live for easy accessibility for other employees and partners across the organization.
  • New Product Introduction - Work with customer marketing managers to align marketing campaigns and rich product content to integrate into the New Product Introduction (NPI) Process. Develop, documentation and deployment processes to help operationalize content management within each country for HARMAN brand campaigns.
  • Content Publication - Coordinate content publication calendar with marketing and digital marketing teams and regions to develop on-time deployment of content and assets including videos, html landing pages, banners, for key NPI products, campaigns, promotions, and new product series and categories.
  • OEM and Dealership – Develop and execute HARMAN brand digital campaigns and assets to be leveraged within OEM NSO (National Sales Offices) across Europe, as well as for dealer groups and large independent dealerships. 
  • Digital Metrics -Develops and monitors internet metrics “dashboard” to gauge effectiveness of key campaigns and web & social activity. 
  • CRM Database - Work with global digital marketing team to develop an integrated product registration process that will create a database of Harman car audio branded audio customers, allowing the creation of online Harman brand communities to strengthen the brands amongst their target demographics.
  • Newsletter - Quarterly newsletters to our OEM partners which covers what’s new at Harman.
  •  Accommodations Program – Manage the day to day on our new accommodations program to increase brand/HARMAN awareness at OEMs.
  • Digital First - Activate all other marketing activities w/ a Digital First view - Consult with public relations/customer marketing teams to publish content, reviews, and news feeds to promote product launches, sponsorships, & events.  Manage our reputation within regional blogs.  Drive traffic from news sites, blogs, and affinity sites to the OEM section of consumer branded sites.
  • Experiential – Support all branded Car Audio experiential events, including but not limited to Vehicle Launches, Brand Immersions, Brand (OEM and HARMAN) events.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. with an emphasis on marketing or communications
  • 5+ years of experience with internet marketing, agency management, project management, and collateral development
  • Experience in successfully managing internal / external stakeholders and agencies towards common goals and deadlines
  • Experience in developing and managing web content
  • Proven management, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills and an ability to multitask
  • Solid analytical skills with web metrics, market research and sales data
  • Experience in developing, implementing and executing both online and traditional marketing campaigns
  • Cross-functional experience:  participation in a global team selling effort which requires development of collaborative plans with members of other sales groups, product groups, operations, marketing, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, e.g. MSME, MSMET or MBA.
  • Experience with the automotive OEM vehicle development process for OEMs such as Chrysler, Ford, GM, or Toyota
  • Experience using other CAD tools, especially Unigraphics and ProEngineer
  • Experience in the design and engineering of injection-molded plastic components
  • Previous audio design experience
  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Experience using analytical tools such as ANSYS or MoldFlow
  • Experience using MS Office s/w, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Stanford, CT.
