Job Responsibilities:

  • The company needs a Software test lead that can help improve software test cases, test processes, methods, and documentation.
  • Leads software validation for projects or teams on infotainment modules, both on test bench and vehicle.
  • Initiates and fosters team wide activities in learning and adopting new and relevant state of the art technologies for automotive infotainment, consumer electronics, embedded systems, software testing, and test tools.
  • Meet regularly with project teams and partners to ensure milestones are defined, understood and being met. Identify dependencies, risks, and drive resolution to roadblocks.
  • Understand the technical details of the product to a level that you can effectively communicate with the customer and the engineering team.
  • Identifies product requirement or performance issues. Work with software teams and/or partners to implement solutions to meet those requirements
  • Work using an agile development process and maintain status in JIRA.
  • Report regularly on project status to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with peer project test leads across Harman and other customers to ensure dependencies and schedules are aligned


Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years’ experience in project management and support for consumer or partner facing product teams
  • Working knowledge of technology, tools, and test methods for infotainment
  • Working knowledge of functional and non-functional software testing, the software test life cycle, and various test design methodologies.
  • Good working knowledge of CAN protocol, CAN analyzer tools
  • Expertise in testing on Android Platform, Android Applications, Embedded Systems
  • Expertise in Android test/debug tools
  • Good working knowledge of test automation, Android test automation, scripting languages
  • Expertise in software testing across all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Expert in test case development, test execution, test management, test status reporting
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Effectively works under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Jira is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourcefulness in solving problems and overcoming obstacles
  • Strong professionalism and judgment
  • BS Computer Science/Engineering desired, MS strongly preferred.


Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

  • Software testing training (SQE, ISTQB, etc.)
  • Dedicated performer with the ability to advocate appropriately for product quality
  • Relentless learner with a dedication to learn new technologies and test methods
  • Avid follower of the latest technology and products in consumer electronics
  • Embedded programming experience
  • Real-time programming and real-time operating systems
  • Programming languages and platforms (C/C++, Java, .NET, Android, J2ME, Windows Mobile)
  • Embedded hardware/system design


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI
