Position Summary:

This position resides within HARMAN’s Global Operations Organization supporting the Product Sourcing team for the Car Audio SBU within the Lifestyle Audio Division.  The Product Sourcing organization provides Car Audio with dedicated value chain leadership over the complete product life cycle for automotive Speakers, Amplifiers, and Microphones.  This function creates value by delivering cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation objectives that support HARMAN’s customers by leading supply chain for the Car Audio business.  Through supporting successful new product launches and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain, the Product Sourcing Intern will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the success of the Car Audio SBU.


Job Responsibilities: The Product Sourcing Intern’s primary mission will be to analyze the internal process and information flow, develop tools and reports to increase organizational efficiency, and communicate Product Sourcing KPI performance to internal stakeholders.  The Intern will work with cross-functional teams within HARMAN to define, manage, and implement projects that deliver process improvements in support of on time launches for new programs including long lead material planning, SAP set up for new BOM items, ensure and coordinate timely supplier tooling kick-off, and follow-up on open supplier PPAPs.  In addition, the Intern will provide the Product Sourcing Managers support in collecting and compiling cost estimations and supplier quotations to support customer RFQs and ongoing Program BOM cost evolution activities.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Resourceful, result-oriented team player
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, capable program solver


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Developing Access database(s)
  • Experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain role
  • Automotive industry experience a plus


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 5-10%
  • Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
