HARMAN is looking for Automotive Telematics Product Manager in its Advanced Market Business Unit. As a product manager you will be responsible for delivering ground breaking telematics and connectivity products to connect 200 million vehicles that lack good connectivity solution. As a product manager you will:

  • Determine customers' needs and wants for in-vehicle telematics and connected services products through market and industry trend analysis, competitive analysis, attending trade shows and working with external market research companies specializing in automotive connected services.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing development schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Recommend feature and functions of current and next generation of automotive aftermarket telematics product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; assessing new product ideas and recommendations from various stake holders.
  • Assess product market position and competitiveness.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to develop product sales strategies.
  • Provide weekly and monthly management reports for short-term and long-term product sales forecasts
  • Work with engineering team to develop winning hardware and software strategy for your products
  • Develop product presentations to pitch product value proposition to various customers including automotive, carriers and fleet customers
  • Develop product requirement documents and maintain through and after product development cycle.
  • Work with engineering team to find technical solution to resolving product feature and function conflicts
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market data; volume forecast for current and potential businesses
  • Develop product roadmaps, update roadmaps on a quarterly basis to take in to account performance of current products and feature requests from current and potential customers
  • Work with procurement, engineering and management to develop RFI/RFP responses which includes technical strategy, commercial and business terms. Lead and deliver product technical reviews.
  • Work with other product managers (mobile app, cloud backend etc.) to ensure success of end to end solution.

 

Product Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of automotive and/or consumer telematics product management experience
  2. BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, MS Preferred
  3. Willingness to travel to various customer and HARMAN locations globally
  4. US Citizen or Green Card Holder
  5. Strong willingness to work with large teams spread across multiple time zones.
