Sr. System Requirements Engineer- ADAS

Position Summary: 


This position is within HARMAN’s Connected Car Division and is located in Novi, MI.  The purpose of this position is to support the development of ADAS products by specifying and developing requirements for front camera product safety features.  These features will support NCAP 2020 guidelines as well as support autonomous driving levels in conjunction with other vehicle sensors and systems.   The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills, knowledge of engineering discipline, and experience in vision related ADAS functions.


Job Responsibilities: 


  • Defining and documenting the functional requirements for Front Camera performance features.
  • Developing KPIs and testing criteria for system features
  • Working with the Architects to define needed resources for FC features.
  • Working with camera supplier to define optical path required to support feature performance
  • Working with suppliers to define requirements for features/functions developed for the platform by a third party
  • Taking a lead role in dealing with customers  to understand their requirements and ultimately defining performance criteria
  • Implement features in vehicle environment to enable testing/validation
  • Maintaining current knowledge of  defined safety standards such as NCAP 2020 to assure compliance



    Basic Qualifications: 


  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in active safety system development
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems and ADAS sensor technologies
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools
  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrix environment


    Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in design of imaging systems for automotive applications
  • MATLAB/SIMULINK Modeling experience
  • Experience in developing and executing ADAS testing strategies
  • Good communication skills


    Eligibility Requirements: 


  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI
