Associate Software Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team of engineers validating/qualifying software for multiple infotainment products for a given customer
  • Contribute to the technical direction and architectural vision of the test automation framework
  • Create and execute automated test plans capable of providing detailed and well-formatted result readouts and reports for developers and management 
  • Continuously assess and evolve technology and core framework components
  • Some key tasks include:
    • Feature specific tests
    • Integration tests
    • Partial/Full Regression
    • Automated tests
    • Specific tests focused on deltas or changes
    • In vehicle testing/troubleshooting
    • Bench testing/troubleshooting
    • Defect reproduction
    • Verification of fixed/resolved issues
    • Developer support
    • Create and maintain test cases
    • Supporting in customer test drives
  • Create test reports of errors with supporting traces, log files and excellent descriptions.
  • Ensures test results are documented and communicated appropriately and defects have been entered in the defect management tool
  • Interfaces with the customer as needed to reproduce an issue found in a particular vehicle or system

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Embedded software development or testing preferred
  • Knowledge of C, C#
  • Knowledge of Python Scripting
  • Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment
  • Working knowledge of embedded software systems
  • Experience working with Automotive infotainment systems
  • Working knowledge of software development tools (debugger's, emulators, compilers, etc).
  • Working knowledge of software development processes

  • Proactive, goal oriented approach to decision making.
  • Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans
  • Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Experience with testing for automotive infotainment systems
  • Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multi-process environment. 
  • Working knowledge of QNX or Embedded Linux.
  • Able to understand software development at various levels in the software architecture.
  • Experience working in a team environment using Agile software methodologies
  • Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.
  • Able to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for troubleshooting.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solver capable of reproducing and fixing complex software defects.
  • Capable project management and time management skills.  

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI
