Position Summary:

Harman operates global websites and e-commerce platforms for its consumer brands, and utilizes Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget) to communicate with customers. As the Email Platforms Senior Specialist, you will work closely with Marketing, IT, and third-party creative teams to help develop and support a best-in-class email marketing program in order to drive e-commerce sales and improve customer loyalty. You will help drive the ideation and execution of automated emails, analyze customer behaviors to develop customer journeys, and enhance triggered emails to provide on-brand communications with customers. You will also help drive systematic implementation & management of new platform features and functionality to meet global and regional business needs.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no direct reports in this position, but you will work closely together with in-house and third-party shared resources, including creative teams and/or IT, to facilitate the development of new customer journeys and other email program enhancements.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the ideation, design, and execution of customer journeys via the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform
  • Work with design, branding, and IT teams to enhance existing email triggers
  • Ensure all customer communications are effective and on-brand
  • Follow up with stakeholders to obtain required assets, including content, translations, images, etc.
  • Support the expansion of the email marketing program into new regions
  • Stay on top of industry best practices and bring relevant new email marketing solutions to Harman to meet the organization's strategic business needs
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve email communications and build customer loyalty
  • Provide strategic and admin support to regional teams on the Marketing Cloud platform
  • Help create customer segments as needed, based on business requirements
  • Facilitate troubleshooting when technical issues arise
  • Drive and challenge regional business teams on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their vision
  • Proactively communicate with internal teams to document and prioritize their business requirements via JIRA and/or other project management tools
  • Act as an intermediary between business stakeholders and development/creative teams to deliver new functionality, email templates and bug fixes
  • Update stakeholders on timelines and/or delays in implementation
  • Test deliverables and new functionality before passing them on to stakeholders for UAT

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required in marketing or related field
  • 1-3 years of email marketing experience
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or a similar ESP) is a must
  • Experience working with creative and IT teams is a must
  • Experience with A/B testing emails
  • Experience with Google Analytics and analyzing customer behavior to improve digital marketing performance
  • Strong understanding of email deliverabililty and list hygiene best practices
  • Basic working knowledge of HTML, or willingness to learn and not be intimidated by it
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once in an ever-changing environment
  • A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to successfully engage in and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, and work seamlessly with tight deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional consulting experience
  • Experience with personalized, behavior-driven campaigns and dynamic content
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
