Position Summary:

The Sr. Marketing Specialist is responsible for deployment of pertinent information internally and externally as part of implementing marketing strategies and NPI go to market initiatives with JBL brand products. He/she will be responsible for collection and dissemination of announcements as well as the development and upkeep of internal documents and database of information.  In addition, he/she is responsible for meeting media deadlines and deployment of media deliverables.   The Sr. Marketing Specialist also develops, implements, and monitors NPI marking activity that serves to increase market awareness and increase market share. 


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities but interfaces daily with outside agencies and partners to achieve goals in a collaborative nature.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with sales organization to define strategic marketing support needs and determine optimal ways to support those needs
  • Manage and engage in development of launch events for key NPI’s.
  • Plan and execute demonstrations, competitive comparisons or product use case installations for customer meetings and trade events
  • Manage third party agencies such as PR and or marketing agencies. Merchandising and Display agencies across the region.
  • Communicate with critical key sales territory managers to ensure all marketing/sales materials and assets are distributed and managed properly.
  • Create and manage training development plans to be executed by the training specialist and/or 3rd party vendor.
  • Weekly distribution and analysis of sell through and retail strategy
  • Responsible for periodic research, market trends and competitive retail intelligence analyses and reports
  • Work closely with sales organization to define strategic marketing support needs and determine optimal ways to support those needs
  • Develop and distribute sales support materials for regional/local training events on a timely manner.
  • Analyze customers and competitors
  • Manage trade creative, sales creative, customer-specific creative, digital creative and briefings. Manage projects with creative agencies and ensure the projects are completed within the deadline.
  • Oversee and plan all media execution and creative. Ensure all messaging and materials are aligned with the brand campaign and maximally effective. Including but not limited to videos, signage, ads, handouts, sales sheets, etc.
  • Conduct research on marketing strategies and consumer opinions
  • Prepare reports on all research and sell though data as it pertains to the Americas
  • Support and work with leadership group on key retailer/customer (or internal) presentations
  • Set up product information for key customer accounts, while sufficiently communicating across many divisions to ensure accuracy (supply chain, GPLMs, design, etc.).
  • Distribute DV/PV samples to sales force for accurate forecast and effective sales performance.  Track and ensure the samples were sent out properly to the right person. Manage sample trafficking if needed.
  • Develop and execute local influencer program to increase brand awareness and reach the desired demographic via social media.
  • Travel and participate in major local/regional training programs and trade shows to train and educate retail sales associates and trade of Harman brand products, specs and benefits.
  • Develop creative calendar and strategy from communication to retail channel.
  • Develop promotional strategies including cost-benefit analyses to retail channel


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Related
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Marketing or related field
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in a large, multinational organization
  • Consumer Electronics industry experience
  • Photoshop experience is preferred
