Position Summary:

Harman International is interested in hiring a Sr. Manager of Product Marketing. The individual is responsible for managing a portfolio of products as defined in the category strategy and product roadmap he/she is assigned to. He/she is the interface between the global product development, global NPI assets development, USA marketing and sales team, and the sales. He/she actively pursues market insights and competitor benchmark studies and prepares product introductions. He/she creates the USA regional strategic marketing landscape for all new product introductions and gives direction in developing the appropriate GTM communication strategy and execution. This role will partner across several functions to develop compelling marketing campaigns to deliver on-target marketing strategy and regional alignment to drive category growth. This position will report into Dir of Product Marketing.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Product & Insights

  • Natural curiosity and interested in consumer technology. Be THE product knowledge source for USA regional marketing team.
  • Understand the regional market environment of the complete category.
  • Analyze the market to identify new product/market opportunities.
  • Develop short- to mid-term product and marketing strategy.
  • Key liaison with the US Sales team in briefing new product launches and maintaining communication critical to sell-in and sell-through success
  • Work closely with Global Product Line Managers (Shenzhen, China) to understand and translate the technical product features into consumer-friendly US-centric communication strategies.
  • Give GPLM input into commercial product specification & product concepts. 
  • Brief on new product concepts & give regional feedbacks.
  • Develop and provide a product overview and resource materials for USA regional use.

Marketing GTM and Campaigns

  • Responsible for supporting product launches in the US region with strategic marketing plans to ensure the successful sell-in and sell-through in the marketplace.
  • Work closely with NPI assets team to delivery regional tailored NPI assets on time.
  • Partner cross-functionally to strategize new features, benefits, and communications that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Drive strategic 360 GTM launches and sustain marketing plans for products. - Developing a launch strategy and executing tactics to ensure each piece of the strategy comes to life.
  • Collaborate with trade marketing to amplify support in-store – POS development etc.
  • Identify marketing ideas and campaign concepts that drive consumer interest and demand for products.
  • Synthesize market intelligence & customer insights – be the expert on our customers, who they are and what segments we serve; be the expert on the competition and the broader digital marketplace.
  • Provide feedback from the US region on product trends, key retailer feedback, consumer data and performance for launch plans.
  • Manage product launch budget, inclusive of all dedicated product initiatives.
  • Develop an over-arching GTM launch presentation in phases throughout the product lifecycle
    • Phase 1 – Product Overview, Distribution strategy, and launch timeline
    • Phase 2 – Update to include key marketing initiatives
    • Phase 3 – Update to include creative materials and details for the launch
    • Phase 4 – Update with results – PR, Media, etc.
  • Communicate USA marketing plans and strategy to senior leadership.
  • Key liaison between internal Harman marketing partners in the US region and counterparts globally.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field requires. Masters degree preferred.
  • 7+ years in related marketing positions with increasing responsibility.
  • Marketing experience with strong product marketing experience, defining and driving campaigns toward market launch roll-out.
  • Demonstrated understanding of messaging strategy, user experience and persuasive marketing techniques in driving engagement with new or existing features or benefits.
  • Strong analytics and process management skills.
  • Prior experience in a large, multinational organization
  • Consumer Electronics experience is a bonus

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
