Position Summary:


The Sr. Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the Embedded Audio Global Sales team and Business Development team with marketing leadership. Key responsibilities include providing guidance HARMAN licensed brand usage and corporate brand standards and to create best-in-class selling tools to help energize sales activities. This includes the development of custom sales presentations, video content and product demonstrations.  In addition, this individual is responsible for providing launch support for customers who have licensed a HARMAN brand for their device. This can include the development, communication, and execution of creative product launch strategies. This will require collaboration with other functions within EA as well as other HARMAN business units/departments and outside agencies. This can include press releases, promotions, web content, social media content, video, audio content, usage guides, and copy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.


The Sr. Marketing Manager must support the improved awareness of EA capabilities within targeted industry segments and acquiring useful business leads. B2B strategies in this area may include trade show participation, web-based content-marketing activities, and outbound email campaigns.


It is important that corporate brand standards, both in terms of presentation (in-device, on-device, on-packaging, and in marketing materials) and in terms of audio quality be maintained with licensees. The Sr. Marketing Manager will approve brand presentation usage and will provide advice and recommendations relative to HARMAN brand fit with potential licensees.


Additional Responsibilities:


  • Develop and track departmental budget
  • Maintain and communicate marketing calendars and programs in support of EA programs.
  • Work closely with Sales leaders to asses and gain approval on brand usage an activation
  • Support market research activities, as necessary, to represent the voice of the customer within cross functional development teams.
  • Develop reports for the business unit and corporate functions, as needed.


Basic Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 10 years of similar or related work experience within consumer electronics or related industry.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead an international marketing team.
  • Excellent customer facing skills. Comfortable interacting with sales and customer personnel from executives to lower levels.
  • Proficient in web marketing activities.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter who recognizes what needs to be done without being told.
  • Agile and able to address immediate business issues with limited time, resources, and information.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Highly proficient in creating reports outlining and presenting facts, analysis, insights, and recommendations.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree – MBA preferred
  • A person with a strong interest in technology who has the ability to understand the technical attributes of a product or a device.
  • Someone with a very broad marketing background that includes B2B and B2C product launch experiences.
  • A resourceful individual who seeks creative ways to solve problems with limited budget resources.
  • Very strong orientation to getting the job done by overcoming whatever challenges that come up.
  • An energetic individual who has demonstrated an ability to energize others as well around difficult goals and objectives.
  • A creative individual who has created and articulated sales and marketing strategies for world class product lines.
  • Very knowledgeable about SEO, paid search, social media, web metrics, and Ecom.


Eligibility Requirements:


  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
