Position Summary:

We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to maintain and grow the HARMAN Professional division’s social networks. The person in this role will update social networks and curate content to gain new followers and maintain our Professional Division brands’ presence. Responsibilities also include creating new social marketing campaigns, building brand recognition, and managing all HARMAN Professional published social media content. This position will be working with analytics tools to track campaign progress and researching industry trends, while maintaining an active social presence and actively managing social media communities and answering customer inquiries. A successful social media manager will collaborate with marketing, PR, and product teams to align company messages, promotions, and goals.

This position is a key member of the central marketing communications team that works closely across all functions, peers in the marketing organization, external agency resources, and the HARAMAN Professional Regional teams to conceive and implement social media programs to engage current audiences, attract new consumers, and support HARMAN Professional key brands via organic, promoted, and paid media. This team member will execute day-to-day social media operations and team processes, including documentation and campaign execution, while implementing policies and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social media brand strategies, campaigns, and plans to build brand/company awareness
  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency
  • Create, maintain, and grow new and existing social networks, including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and others
  • Monitor social media progress using web analytic tools and create regular reports identifying and reporting on specific key performance indicators
  • Incorporate optimization strategies, analyze data, and research best ways to increase traffic
  • Review success of campaigns and develop ways to improve
  • Plan social media boosting strategies and budgets
  • Resolve customer issues through social media and active community management
  • Create engaging written and visual content for social media channels
  • Research new media platforms, trends, and industry opportunities
  • Provide feedback from social media trends and research; relay it to business strategists
  • Write effective, concise copy for multiple social platforms
  • Work with and manage outside creative agencies to set plans, strategy and day-to-day social media posting activities  

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, or related field
  • 3+ years of social media management experience
  • Strong familiarity social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Experience with social media marketing tool like Social Studio, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for web design, web production, and creative design across multiple platforms
  • Experience identifying and creating campaigns for target audience
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Strong project management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background that includes music performance, music recording and production, live event production (audio or lighting), or music industry experience
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Google Analytics
  • Previous experience with project management platforms like Workfront, Wrike, Asana, etc.
  • Experience handling tasks with both short-term and long-term deadlines
  • Experience finding and interacting with social media influencers

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
