Senior Embedded DSP Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is within HARMAN’s Lifestyle Audio Group located in Northridge. The successful candidate will be a talented, creative, and highly motivated embedded Digital Signal Processing software engineer. This candidate will have audio algorithm experience, DSP programming experience and show a strong interest in audio.

 

Job Responsibilities:

•Embedded digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm development, implementation, and porting to perform advanced audio processing.

• Work in the Center of Competence Audio to design and develop audio software

• Support innovation, research, development and validation of consumer electronics product designs

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field + 5 years experience and deep experience with audio algorithms and DSP programming

• Software development experience for standard embedded operating systems using functional and object oriented programming languages like C, C++, Java

• Hands-on experience with cross-platform development tools and IDEs

• Fluency in developing multi-threaded and interrupt driven programs, binary operations, data structures, etc.

• The candidate must be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be willing to work with a team of engineers.

 

Desired Characteristics:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

• Programming experience in Matlab and Virtual Studio Technology (VST)

• Experience in reading and understanding the electronics schematics and layouts, operating digital scopes and other test equipment

• Familiarity with sound recording/editing software tools, audio measurement tools, and critical listening skills

  • Willingness to travel  5% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA
