Product Application Specialist - Tour Audio

Position Summary:

The primary goal of this position is to provide industry-leading in-region, pre- and post-sales support for HARMAN Professional’s tour sound customers, giving them access to a resource who understands their business and helps address their needs with a clear willingness to support their success, and deep knowledge of our hardware and software offerings.  In the pre and post sales support role, work directly with our sales teams in the field to plan, manage, and execute product demonstrations that show the full capabilities of our tour sound system.  It is important in this role that the candidate not only performs a successful technology demonstration, but also works to build relationships with new customers – exemplifying our commitment to building a relationship with our partner customers. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely alongside sales managers to cultivate new business through design recommendations and coordinating/conducting events that feature product demonstrations.
  • Meet with customers to present new products clearly and effectively, telling the HARMAN Professional story that is inseparable from an impressive technical demonstration.
  • Always be knowledgable on the latest offerings in the HARMAN Professional touring product line, and always understand how the elements go together to provide exceptional solutions for customers.
  • Excel at presenting to large groups, responding to their questions, and performing hands-on trainings that demonstrate best practices for how to deploy our hardware and software solutions.
  • Be proactive, communicating effectively both back to manager and office team, and also out into the field regularly keeping in touch with customers to stay up-to-date on their activities and always striving to better understand their business. 
  • Be available, answer technical support emails and calls in a timely fashion, deliver show files or array predictions as requested in a timely and accurate fashion. 
  • Be organized, especially when it comes to documenting customer visits, entering them into the CRM system, and following up with contacts. 
  • Work with team to develop technical documentation library – this could include presentations, training guides, video overviews, or standards for how to properly present our offerings. 
  • Support marketing efforts by attending tradeshows, regional demonstrations, and other key events as needed that benefit from having our exceptional technical resources team present.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a field related to audio, acoustics or equlivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years experience in sound system design and deployment
  • 5+ years experience in managing and maintaining client relations
  • Highly fluent in Microsoft Office software suite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple long-term and short-term tasks concurrently
  • Structured way of working independently, while possessing skills to benefit the group in a team setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourcefulness in solving problems and overcoming obstacles
  • Experience successfully working in a professional environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of concert sound system deployment with experience successfully connecting together consoles, amplifiers, speakers, and system management software on a large scale.
  • Advanced work in an audio-related, or business-related field
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale production partners

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 50%
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA or open to a potential remote location in the Western region.
