Position Summary:

We are looking for someone who can create retail theater and help tell the JBL & Harman Kardon story in the retail environment (Heavy JBL Focus).   This person will help drive U.S. Trade & Shopper marketing excellence including building customer programs and developing and executing merchanding solutions.

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, this person will assist in developing innovative, buzzworthy Customer programs that leverage the brand’s owned assets (sports & music focused) to engage consumers in store.  This role works across all customers – both national and local, as well as with all sales reps and marketing counterparts. 

This person will also assist with trade merchandising planning, creative development and execution.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing retail marketing programs to elevate the brand experience in-store.  
  • Work collaboratively with Harman sales to create presentations and videos for sales executives to  use as a part of the retailer sell-in and present to customers on occasion.
  • Collaborate and occasionally lead internal cross-functional teams (legal, sales, finance, communications, etc.) and external agency resources on program execution.
  • Assist in developing new programs for sales to use with customers that tap into JBL’s entire arsenal of marketing assets.
  • Leverage regional consumer insights to build effective programs and a richer understanding of what motivates consumers in these markets.
  • Collaborate with sales to develop and distribute sales support materials and weekly reporting tools such as sell-through and inventory reports.
  • Assist with execution of product merchandising including creation of POS (point of sale) displays and other in-store assets. 
  • Maingain day-to-day communication and collaboration with external merchandising agencies
  • Maintain and update product information databases for key accounts, working closely with cross-functional departments to ensure product detail accuracy.
  • Perform periodic research, market trends and competitive retail intelligence analyses and reports.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years consumer marketing experience
  • Prior experience in a large organization or agency preferred
  • Previous customer marketing experience is a bonus
  • Experience selling programs internally or externally is a bonus
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Photoshop experience is preferred

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
