The Manager, Inventory Control will be providing leadership in executing inventory strategies.  Works closely with manufacturing, materials, engineering, and finance  leaders to plan, organize, direct, and technically support effective inventory planning & control.  She/He will be responsible for daily inventory activities including cycle counting, data collection, implementing and reviewing processes to maintain inventory security and integrity to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum value to the group.  This role also analyzes and disposes of excess inventory and makes recommendations for reducing and controlling inventory across multiple brands.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position does not have any direct reports.  However will have dotted line inventory control people from 3PL as well as from factories.

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Administers inventory model to monitor trends, simulate future plans, and implement countermeasures. 
  • Directs and facilitates production and materials control strategies to achieve inventory goals without impacting customer service levels and customer delivery goals.
  • Works with manufacturing, materials and finance controllers developing production and inventory control strategies using  ERP system.
  • Provides tactical production and inventory control direction and leadership support  as needed
  • Identifies root cause of inventory discrepancies in the warehouse and factories
  • Responsible to monitor the flow of inventory into and out of warehouses to resolve aged stock-transport orders (STOs)
  • Ensure the correct inventory movement types are used within the enterprise and quickly address and correct noncompliant transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce aged inventory thru sales, inventory efficiencies, etc.
  • Review open PO’s & coordinate with Procurement on excess / EOL SKUs
  • Partnership with Finance to own and improve BI inventory reporting
  • Retrieves and analyzes information from the multiple ERP/MRP systems.
  • Liaise with other departments and senior department staff to implement improvements as required.
  • Assist in development of process improvements on site in relation to inventory related process steps and support implementation.
  • Oversee/perform regular internal audits and external audit preparation in accordance to company best practices and external required standards
  • Produce Statistical Management Information and KPI’s measuring Inventory performance and service levels provided to each customer.
  • Monitor procedural compliance; support implementation of new procedures in conjunction with management and operations.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and deal with requests and issues.
  • Analyzes excess inventory by customer and makes recommendations for reducing excess and obsolete material including coordination of movement of excess material back to the customer
  • Negotiates sales price and coordinates the sale of excess material.
  • Provide escalation point to Inventory management in relation to unresolved issues.
  • Maintains metrics in response to site or corporate requirements and produce reports as needed.
  • Improve the forecasting process and reduce the overall inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in field. 
  • Must possess excellent computer skills (Microsoft office applications).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP and/or other ERP/MRP is required.
  • Must have leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and possess a “can-do” with quality first attitude and take “ownership” over Logistics initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate time management skills
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems
  • Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and teach others

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred. 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time internationally.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
