Position Summary:

The general responsibility of the Director, Finance is to ensure the identification, measurement, accumulation, analysis, preparation, interpretation, and communication of all financial information for use by Professional Solutions Division management.  This position is the key financial strategic partner and plays a key role in supporting the business to ensure that strong profitability is achieved. This Finance leader is a strong partner across management to continuously improve business decisions and results as well as improve the quality of data on which decisions are made. This position is the global FP&A lead responsible for budgeting, forecasting, tracking and reporting results to division management and to Corporate. This role is also critical for providing guidance, communicating and coordinating any business or financial requirements across the division.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position manages a team of six.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic partner with Sr. Management to develop business plan, forecasts, and monitor and track monthly results against budget, forecast, run rate and prior years.
  • Monitor and report global financial results (P&L, FCF, Working Capital, Capex, Balance Sheet) and oversee consolidation, budgeting, and monthly forecasting of Professional business results. Monitor monthly reporting of global, regional, customer vertical, and product category Sales & CM results
  • Professional Solutions is organized by eight Regions, global manufacturing (4 plants), PMO/Product Management/R&D, and five vertical markets (CSUs).
  • Lead the division in the budgeting, forecasting target setting process. Provide guidance to regional and functional finance leads. Ensure internal and corporate deliverables communicated, coordinated, and requirements met.
  • Coordinate with and Accounting, Regions, and Functions to ensure accuracy of business result, review and provide variance commentaries to Harman and Samsung headquarters.
  • Provide financial guidance, align and track targets against actuals and coordinate with various Corporate, Regional and Functional Finance Leads.
  • Control global Capex spending, highlight issues, present monthly results and forecasts to Operations EVP. Coordinate with companywide functional owners, assess project priorities, allocate and communicate budget funding.

 

  • Support 5 CSUs with NPI proposals, review business cases, track performance
  • Provide support for any division wide initiatives, ad-hoc analysis, and ensure implementation of any policy or process changes.
  • Integration of any new businesses into current financial systems, as required.
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly rolling forecasts with the Division President and reporting to Corp.
  • Responsible for coordinating with external and internal auditors;
  • Reporting in Corporate accounting systems Global financial statements in accordance with Company policy and GAAP/IFRS.
  • Business Partner to various Functional VPs to review and control global Marketing, HR, IT, and other G&A spending and ensure we are meeting targets.
  • Perform analytical reviews of monthly financial statements. Make recommendations to management as to areas of improvement on the cost allocations and cost containing opportunities. Work across company lines to track and review project costs and evaluate the cost benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX reporting
  • 10+ years related experience to include preparing financial statements, business activity reports and financial position forecasts and variance analysis
  • Developed budgets and forecasts
  • Managed project based issues
  • Drive global communication and organization of multinational controlling team
  • Worked with compliance and control environment
  • Advanced ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel and Power Point skills

  • Willingness to travel 10%
  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA
