Huemen Design:

HARMAN has always placed great value on the design and execution of its products and services. In 2018, the three internal design groups across the 4 divisions were reorganized into a single agency-model design organization. This design organization is named “Huemen”. Huemen will continue to deliver and lead the world-class design across all of HARMAN in the disciplines of Industrial Design (ID), User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), as well Marketing Services and Future Experiences in Auto and Home.

Position Summary:

Huemen is looking for a strong, inspiring leader that can enable creativity and innovation alongside our in-house marketing team that plans, designs and executes internal and consumer facing brand communications across all channels, divisions, and regions. Huemen is seeking a marketing services lead with 10-15 years of relevant experience to be an integral part of Huemen Design organization leadership team.

The Senior Director, Marketing Services will manage all functions within the Marketing Services offering of Huemen including business development support, project scoping, project management, design leadership and execution, sample management, asset management through to delivery and vendor management. The role requires a proven track record of working effectively within a dynamic marketing organization and with cross functional teams, as well as an in-depth and hands-on understanding of the creative and production process.

This position requires a high energy leader to build a team, establish tools, create processes, and deliver the work through the global Harman brands and services. This leader will guide their team to do their best work and create capacity for new and constantly evolving offerings. This leader is balanced, demonstrating strong organizational and disciplined approaches to process and deadlines with an ability to adapt and lead the changing needs of the business and our clients. This person is capable of building a team with world class talent, leading them to exceed targets and take the initiative to develop the highest quality delivery on time and on budget.

The Senior Director, Marketing Services will have the unique opportunity to build a deep and rich Marketing Services team to support Harman International globally as well as Huemen’s external clients in a wide range of industries and markets. This role will establish the full offering and value proposition for the marketing services offering from Huemen. This will span multiple types of media and channel, from print to video, from regional to global, from short/rapid impact to long-term sustaining communications and messaging. The person who fills this role will work closely and collaboratively with our team of designers and business leaders globally.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will build and lead the marketing service offering within Huemen. Based on billable directions and needs, this role will be the seeding of a billable team within Huemen to service revenue generating needs. This leader will build their team. The scale of this team will be calibrated to the growth potential, business planning, and revenue targets.

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Director, Marketing Services will be responsible for leading and delivering clear and consistent quality services to marketing service support across all types and channels; this leader will be responsible for creative direction balanced with business success parameters. The Marketing Services Lead will work closely with Huemen leadership and HARMAN divisions, business units and corporate groups to deliver the following expectations:

• Work closely with leadership and business development teams to define project scope, timeline, and proposal.
• Identify and hire delivery team based in New York.
• Service global needs of marketing team, using internal resources as well as leveraging external partners where needed.
• Responsible to manage resource allocation and utilization across the Marketing Services team.
• Manages programs and accountable for successful delivery.
• Develop and grow capabilities based on continued needs of Harman and external clients.
• Lead market trends and technology to develop a competitive leadership position for Harman and Huemen through marketing services.
• Integrate the Huemen Marketing Services offering into the global marketing team within Harman.
• Build a relationship with Harman leadership team to build relevance and drive success.
• Creates efficiencies and processes within the Huemen team.

Performance Measurement:

• This role will be measured on:
  • Strength and delivery of the Marketing Services team.
  • Project delivery on time and on budget.
  • Evolution and revolution to expand services and offering to elevate Harman brands.
  • Financial health of programs.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10-15 years creative leadership, including a minimum of 5 years of experience both managing teams and content delivery/creative direction servicing regional and global marketing.
• Exemplify creative leadership with targeted marketing services portfolio across multiple media and channels.
• Demonstrate ability to scope, lead, and execute successful projects with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in required creative tools (Adobe CC, HTML, etc.).
• Exemplify understanding and relevant use of AR and VR.
• Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) at all levels of organizations, both within clients, teams, and partner organizations is required.
• A passion for great design is a must.
• Proactive, intuitive, engaging, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and collaborative are important traits to be successful.
• Excellent organization skills including time management, exceptional follow-up, and tracking progress.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience from a client service organization.
• Consumer electronics industry experience.
• A design focused degree and/or MBA are a plus.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Domestic and Global travel (10-15%).

• Employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
