Sales Manager - Tour Audio - Northeast Region

Position Summary:

This position is part of the Northeast channel team and will specifically drive sales of Harman tour sound audio.  Specific existing accounts will be assigned, and the candidate will work with the channel team to identify and target new business opportunities moving forward. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct reports. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales objectives for the northeast region on assigned accounts. The assigned territory is the domestic US from  Colorado to Hawaii. 
  • Must target competitive tour sound customers for conversion to Harman solutions. 
  • Must be good at planning and be able to function within expense budgets. 
  • Must be capabable (if not already competent) in demonstrating all software related to tour sound setup and functionality. 
  • Must work closely with Sales Operations and Operations to ensure accurate forecasting and to meet customer request dates.
  • Must work closely with and coordinate all efforts with the northeast channel team.     
  • Understand and utilize all Harman Pro systems including BI, SAP, CRM, Talent Center, Soundtrax, etc. 
  • Strong negotiations skills and quotation preparation are a must.
  • Strong verbal and relationship skills are a must.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and growth plans for the specific regions .
  • Work with Regional VP, Sales and the Northeast channel team to establish annual sales goals.
  • Facilitate new processes, tools, communications, training and methodologies to ensure sales program's success across teams and departments throughout the company.
  • Must have an understanding of system payment options including finance, terms, etc. 
  • Must have a solid understanding of proper/ethical legal and sales practices.
  • Participate in client interactions to ensure cross training, customer satisfaction and management involvement regularly.

 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in sales management with a proven track record of growing and sustaining sales revenue.
  • Prior experience in the design and/or sale of acoustic / audio products.
  • Technical background in the electronics field .
  • Knowledge of all products in the Harman Tour Audio portfolio.  (Microphones, speakers, amplifiers, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Candidate must be computer literate with skills in Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor is a must.  Must be able to interact well with “old school audio” as well “corporate type” clientele. 
  • Interest and understanding of consumer, audio, or electronics.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment, while maintaining good customer relations at all times.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, efficiently, and accurately from varying sources.
  • Ability to demonstrate assertiveness.
  • Tenacious but professional approach.
  • Flexible with a high degree of determination and perseverance.
  • Excellent time management skills.

 

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • Willingness to travel up to 40%-50%.
  • Willingness to work in a home-based environment in the North East region.
