Huemen Design:

HARMAN has always placed great value on the design and execution of its products and services. In 2018, the three internal design groups across the 4 divisions were reorganized into a single agency-model design organization. This design organization is named “Huemen”. Huemen will continue to deliver and lead the world-class design across all of HARMAN in the disciplines of Industrial Design (ID), User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX), as well Marketing Services and Future Experiences in Auto and Home.

 

Position Summary:

Huemen is looking for a Art Director-Content to join a new team focused on all creative efforts for the Harman portfolio of global audio brand which includes JBL, Harman/Kardon, and AKG.

The Art Director-Content will be the content team lead, which will be responsible for concepting, developing, and producing compelling and entertaining creative content for cross platform campaigns, product launches, and internal brand communications. This person should come from a video and animation background and help to build, lead, and inspire a team of videographers, animators, editors, and photographers that will develop content across multiple digital channels and across several brand categories: Video, web, mobile, social, retail, etc.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role will help build and lead a creative team with 4 direct reports
  • This team will be focused on servicing Harman marketing efforts and elevating the marketing services offering within Huemen.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and motivate creative content team to develop breakthrough and compelling creative content
  • Partner with Senior Director Marketing Services lead and design team to create content that supports and elevates the Harman brand campaigns
  • Help to build and lead the team responsible for all creative content across the Huemen brand portfolio - supporting the needs of all Huemen divisions (Lifestyle, Professional Solutions, Connected Car, Connected Services) and all Global Marketing teams (Brand Development, Consumer Insights, Ecommerce)
  • Responsible for producing and editing video content and animation
  • Provide art direction and produce photo and video shoots­
  • Work with designers, user experience architects, and marketers to achieve the Marketing Services vision
  • Adopt responsibility for agency-wide initiatives that enhance and encourage the growth of talent and networks to bring new talent to agency
  • Manage to the Marketing Services scope / budget associated with each project
  • Effectively prioritize workload and exercise time management skills to keep all projects on track
  • Support & facilitate the mandatory adherence to Huemen’s requirements, processes and procedures 
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and up to challenges of ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables.
  • A flexible attitude to collaboration is essential

This role will be measured on:

  • Strength and delivery of creative content
  • Project delivery on time and on budget

 

Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years creative agency experience
  • Minimum of 4 years at art director or equivalent level managing and directing creative staff, internally & across different disciplines 
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of content development in multiple formats: short form, long form, and animation
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills that demonstrate influence and diplomacy
  • Strategic thinking in social media and marketing is preferred
  • Must have Finesse and emotional intelligence to engage clients, listen carefully, and have reasoned and persuasive answers
  • Requires expertise in producing and editing video and photo content and an understanding of the principals of product animation
  • Strong strategic and ideation/conceptual abilities—demonstrated ability to translate client message into effective communications in moving and animated media.
  • Superior presentation skills with the ability to persuade and inform, while maintaining agency standards and strategic point-of-view 
  • Ability to recognize, develop and enhance concepts developed by staff and directs their translation across all content channels
  • Large brand experience in CPG category preferred 
  • Should be aware of the mobile landscape and stay current on the rapid changes in social media and communications technology 
  • Must be industry aware: current events, trends, and general advertising culture 
  • Fluent verbal and written English essential; other languages desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience from a client service organization
  • Consumer electronics industry experience
  • A design focused degree is a plus

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Domestic and Global travel (5-10%)
  • Employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
