Position Summary

The Consultant Liaison Manager will be responsible in managing, cultivating and nurturing the AV/IT/MEP Consultant relationship for Harman Professional. The prime responsibility will include working with the principal consultant & his/her teams; training them on new products; working closely in the preparing concept designs and tender specifications for projects all across the Enterprise business unit. Consultant Liaison Manager will be required to work very closely with Sales Managers and Vertical Development Managers to ensure that overall business is benefit.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Manage all elements of the business relationship between HARMAN and the consultants within the defined geographic region.
  • Influence the technology evaluation stage of the design program of the consultancy to optimize opportunities for HARMAN solutions.
  • Strive to have HARMAN products and commissioning services specified into every AV/IT and MEP consultant project.
  • Document all projects possible that HARMAN products were and were not specified.
  • Develop relationships with key consultant decision-makers and influencers.
  • Explain and demonstrate the technological aspects of all HARMAN product being marketed.
  • Provide in-the-field training on all aspects of HARMAN’s equipment, functions and uses to consultant’s team.
  • Leverage the HARMAN Application Engineers when greater technical expertise is required.
  • Provide feedback from the consultant community, both technical and commercial, to the HARMAN management team.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for the consultant community within the given geography.
  • Attend trade shows both nationally and regionally as required.
  • Serve the defined regions of India & SAARC sales regions.
  • Other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.



  • The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge and skills:
  • 8+ years of experience working with Audio DSP, Audio Solution Designs, Network AV Solutions, AV Switching and Control Systems, Lighting Solutions & video distribution products.
  • Computer networking experience (preferably including audio & video networking).
  • Experience in the professional audio-video marketplace including contacts with AV/IT and MEP consultants.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with HARMAN’s consultants.
  • Ability to give both technical and sales presentations to any level of attendee, from company presidents down.
  • Strong self-motivation to allow efficient work
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of the MS Office suite (including PowerPoint).
  • Strong technical audio and video knowledge.


The position requires about 75% travel within the area as well as participation at InfoComm and other industry tradeshows.
