Public Relations Manager

 

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and respected public relations manager to join our organization. In this position, you will create and promote the public image of HARMAN’s key division/ Business Unit – HARMAN Connected Services (HCS). You will develop communication strategies for media and analyst relations as well as maintain a strong network of industry connections to further increase our organization’s awareness.

 

Public Relations Manager Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develop public relations strategies for current and existing products, launches, and promotions for the division in order to protect and enhance HARMAN’s reputation in the market
  • Work with the HCS’ President & leadership team to understand the business priorities, objectives and go-to-market strategies and develop effective PR plans to support the division
  • Demonstrate ability to navigate and develop long-term and positive relationships with PR/marketing counterpoints at HCS’ client/customer site. Engage with customers, proactively, to develop strong and compelling story telling. Forge strong relationships with customers to obtain approvals for customer success stories and thought leadership pieces
  • Consistently brainstorm and collaborate with broader Communications and business teams for new ideas and strategies
  • Supervise, mentor, manage and delegate responsibilities to PR agency and build credibility and joint projects with industry analysts
  • Manage content team to produce relevant, compelling social media updates with links to products or promotions
  • Develop and produce high-quality, informative, and interesting press releases, press kits, and related materials
  • Maintain good relationships with media
  • Serve as the public face of the company in interviews and press conferences, if needed
  • Organize promotional events, press conferences, tours, visits, and exhibitions
  • Analyze media coverage; develop responses when needed
  • Create presentations, articles, reports, and information for web sites, blogs, and social media accounts
  • Create and manage PR budgets, deadlines, objectives, and schedules
  • Develop or commission market research as needed

 

Public Relations Manager Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field
  • 6 +years of experience in PR, Social media, Analyst and Influencer marketing. Experience of working with large, multinational companies
  • Strong knowledge of social media and IoT influencers, especially in the IT services domain
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills is a pre-requisite; strong copywriting and content creation skills
  • Willing to work, network and collaborate with a global communications team, sitting across countries and continents and managing time zones effectively
  • Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
  • Available to work nights or weekends when needed
  • Willing to travel 20 - 30% of the time
