Position Summary:

  • The primary role of the Production Supervisor is to oversee the daily production activities in the Plant and be the first point of contact for all Production Operatives and then report into the Site Leader.
  • The Production Supervisor is to work with the Operations Team and organise Production Operatives to ensure the optimised running of the plant and securing that the planned work schedule is achieved on a daily basis.
  • The Production Supervisor must motivate and encourage all employees to ensure the specified results and objectives are completed to a satisfactory standard, giving timely and constructive feedback to those underperforming. 
  • It is the Production Supervisors responsibility to register and report absenteeism, holidays, overtime and manning issues. Followed by liaising with the Logistics & Planning Manager to make sure all deliveries are achieved when planned.
  • It is the Production Supervisors duty to liaise with the Quality Department ensuring all MMUK Quality procedures are adhered to, guaranteeing the highest standard of quality is maintained.
  • The Production Supervisor will be required to highlight training needs of the workforce and work with the Planning Manager to make time for the training.
  • Maintain & report all Production KPI’s to the Site Leader.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Production team to achieve daily work schedule,
  • Constantly drive the productivity and resources within the production area,
  • Organise staff so tasks are achieved in a timely and cost effective manner,
  • Resolve any issues which may impact on the daily work schedule,
  • Control and monitor all production KPI’s reporting results to the Production Manager/Site Leader,
  • Liaise with the Logistics & Planning Manager and Purchasing Manager to ensure a suitable work schedule and material flow is available for all departments,
  • Organise and register holidays, absenteeism, overtime and other wage related tasks,
  • Implement training programs where required and maintain the skills matrix,
  • Ensure the Quality of all work is at the highest standard,
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are fully met and take appropriate action to notify/rectify any unsafe practices,
  • Coordinate infrastructure maintenance task with subcontractors and/or competent personal,
  • Assist the Production Manager/Site Leader in any given project assignment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities to a specified deadline
  • Ability to train others

 

Additional requirements:

  • Requires knowledge about MS Office on user level
  • Knowledge of any Lean manufacturing tools is advantageous
  • Any previous Team Leader/Supervisory training
