Our team works on introducing new products and technologies to drive the success of the overall organization towards the autonomous driving market.


Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director of ADAS Product Planning to develop the product strategy and roadmap. This includes features, timing, competitive assessments, investment plans, SWOT analysis, and business case.
  • Translate product vision into actionable plans: Break vision into work packages. Estimate effort and timing.
  • Develop the organization: Define what skills are needed when and where. Then find and hire (or contract) the right skills.
  • Estimate effort and timing in response to customer RFQs. Participate in customer technical reviews.
  • Lead the development of our surround view product. This requires broad knowledge about the design and operation of surround view systems in electrical, mechanical and software domain and the ability to translate that knowledge into detailed work packages, allowing each team member to understand exactly how they contribute to the overall goal.
  • Review and approve engineering work products. Based on high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity ensure that the surround view team produces excellent engineering results. Review all specifications, design deliverables and prototypes to identify and correct potential problems as early as possible.
  • Set and evaluate goals for direct reports.
  • Visit and assess potential partners for their possible role in Harman’s 3D surround view plan. Assess technical capability and strategic fit of potential partners. Prepare make or buy recommendations.
  • Eloquently share vision and plans with customers and Harman management.


Required Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering field
  • 10+ years of experience in the development of automotive electronics.
  • Proven track record of launching automotive camera systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Leadership experience in engineering management or project management incl. direct supervision responsibility
  • Strong sense of urgency; self-motivated person who works with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and bring structure to chaos: Be diligent, disciplined and focused.
  • Be creative. We want to find answers to problems nobody has solved yet.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Good working knowledge of project management practices: Able to define work packages, estimate effort, and plan execution.
  • Familiar with process models such as Automotive SPICE to guide a team.
  • English fluently written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel
