Senior Engineer (m/f) Algorithm Design, Camera Calibration

Our team works on introducing new products and technologies to drive the success of the overall organization towards the autonomous driving market.

You would work within Harman’s ADAS team, specializing in the area of Camera vision technologies, specifically - but not limited to - Vehicle surround view systems.


Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity to establish algorithms that make Harman the supplier of choice for 3D surround view in a head unit
  • Create and test algorithms on simulation tools with target oriented mindset
  • Implement algorithms that run efficiently on embedded graphics processors using OpenGL, OpenVX or other abstraction layers
  • Investigate different algorithmic alternatives and select optimal algorithms that best fit in with Harman’s overall infotainment platform
  • Invent new solutions that distinguish Harman’s surround view from the rest of the industry
  • Assess technical capability and strategic fit of potential partners


Our Required Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering Field, or Mathematics, Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science or related field would be an advantage
  • 7 years of hands-on development in Automotive Electronics and 5 years of development Gaming, Computer Vision, or vision-based ADAS
  • Good C++ programming skills
  • 3 years of development and testing experience with Automotive camera and surround view systems is preferred
  • Proven experience in OpenGL/ES, OpenVX, EGL and OpenCV as well as OpenCL
  • Deep knowledge of image processing algorithms (e.g: LDC, SFM, 3D-OD, PD, etc)
  • Hands-on experience in implementing camera calibration algorithms for multi-camera systems
  • Proven experience in algorithm design tools like Matlab or similar
  • Familiar with UML, Enterprise Architect design experience is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Creative and open minded to find solutions to problems nobody solved yet as well as disciplined and focused to get results and set up priorities
  • Willingness to travel if necessary
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
