As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work within Harman’s Autonomous Driving team, and will boost the research, creation and evaluation of systems in one or more of the following fields, relevant for the automated vehicles:


  • Computer vision
  • Perception algorithms
  • Localization
  • Mapping



Your Responsibilities:


  • Enhance and improve the performance, reliability and automation of our autonomous driving pipeline that perform machine learning and data analysis: computer vision, various perception algorithms, localization, mapping and map optimization
  • Work with big car data from a multitude of sensors
  • Select statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to solve filtering, clustering, classification and inference problems
  • Develop infrastructure systems that support training and evaluation of deep learning and other machine learning techniques used by self-driving vehicles
  • Handle large-scale data sets and organization of relevant data
  • Working closely with other senior machine learning researchers and engineers in autonomy
  • As part of a matrix organization work with engineers, designers, testers and managers as needed to help integrate, evaluate and productize your solutions



Your Profile:


  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field combined with software engineering and data science experience.
  • Proven competence in applied Machine Learning along with practical Deep Learning Experience with frameworks such as tensorflow, theano, keras or caffe
  • 3+ years hands-on involvement in delivering and scaling highly successful and innovative machine learning products with recognizable, significant own contribution.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in coding and programming concepts, combined with the enthusiasm and passion to create software novelties.
  • Proficient in one or more relevant programming languages: C++, Python, Java, R, Julia
  • Detailed understanding of the machine learning workflows and core concepts such as feature discovery and engineering, model validation, tree- and regression-based machine learning approaches. Know how in supervised and unsupervised data mining methods.
  • Love for data, being able to get the data you need without ifs and buts turning it into a tangible story without getting stuck in analysis over the centuries.
  • Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Mahout
  • Experience with modern software engineering tools
  • Experience working independently in a large software setting
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrate a proven ability to multitask and deliver on challenging software development tasks
