Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement the communications plan within the agreed budget.
  • Work closely with the communication managers in HARMAN Automotive Audio and Connected Services divisions to conceive of and implement joint promotions and media stories highlighting the Company’s end-to-end automotive solutions.
  • Secondary point of contact for divisional media inquiries.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to promote HARMAN’s corporate story by developing relationships with electronic and print media in key European regions.
  • Coordinate media outreach and support communications tactics in regional industry conferences, working closely with marketing managers and project teams
  • Monitor competitive and environmental media activity and provide timely advice to the Senior Director, Connected Car and SVP Public Affairs.  Monitor and analyze media coverage for accuracy and alignment with HARMAN’s key messages and communications objectives.
  • Identify strategic speaking forums for Connected Car executives and managers in the region
  • Works with Corporate Communications and regional HR to elevate Connected Car “stars” in their outreach efforts through targeted media profiles and commentary.
  • Identifies and prepares entries for award programs focusing on technical innovation and opportunities to recognize key personnel to elevate HARMAN profile in the community and the industry.
  • Prepares articles, news stories, blog posts, news releases and other communications content , ensuring proper research, compiling and maintenance of information
  • In association with other Harman departments, develop and deliver a Social Media strategy designed to extend our brand and generate positive responses in our chosen markets and targeted social influencers.
  • Develop and produce communications collateral including fact sheets, brochures, and other regional , presentations etc for internal executives as well as external audiences.
  • Develop and implement regional communications strategies for product launches and OEM technology launches working closely with Engineering, Sales and Product Management.
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day activities and priorities of a media relations agency.
  • Make recommendations to strategy and tactics to achieve annual individual and group targets.
  • Serve as an regional member of the Company’s crisis communications team.

 

Basic Qualification:

 

  • University degree in communications or similar.
  • 5 + years of experience in progressive communications focused roles Functional capabilities, particularly requires strong English and German writing skills.
  • Experience developing and effectively implementing a multi­year communications plan reflecting divisional and regional needs of this multinational organization.
  • Experience developing and delivering a strategic communications framework, integrating and aligning communications programs and projects to ensure consistency of messaging, appropriate timing and appropriate linkages with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Highly developed project management and organizational skills; detail­oriented, self­directed and able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
