Lead Software Architect (m/f) / Distinguished Engineer (m/f) autonomous driving

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Architectural and design leadership across all navigation areas
  • Be a key driver behind the navigation software technology stack a key part of the autonomous car
  • Lead the design and architecture decisions of our high performance compute plattform including address entry (geo-location), guidance, positioning (map matching), traffic, interfaces with the digital map and user interface modules
  • Create benchmarks and code samples to explain software behaviour to other engineers and set golden standards to follow. Examples include: writing C++ portable, modular, high performance, OOP driven code; fixing distributed cache architecture; defining API purpose before the API utility; actively managing abstraction layers; TDD; self-explanatory code style; documentation; automation tools
  • As part of a matrix organization work with engineers, designers, testers and managers in multiple locations as needed to help integrate and productize the solution


Required Skills:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Computer Science
  • 10+ years experience in professional software engineering having shipped several consumer grade products
  • 15+ years of experience in C \ C++ preferably with exposure to embedded systems
  • Must have domain navigation knowledge preferably as it relates to various autonomous car functions
  • Ability to design modules that will meet the requirements of today and scale to work in conjunction with modules adding new functionality in the future
  • Deep knowledge of embedded device constraints and how to root cause or debug issues through the entire SW development life cycle
  • Good team player, must have worked as part of medium or large size team
  • Excellent English language skills
