Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Head of Software Project Management for all customer programs for BMW Digital Cockpit
  • Global software delivery responsibility in time, cost and quality according to scope, requirements and agreed targets
  • Drive RFQ and RFI phase and support Customer Business Unit (CBU) for winning new business
  • Continuous improvement of program management skills and performance of the team to stay on market benchmark level
  • Observe market and customer and provide input to CPM strategy
  • Ensuring equal treatment of employees within the scope of corporate policies and practices
  • Act as a role model in terms of leadership and code of business conduct


Position Summary:

  • Management Level “Face to Customer” for all Digital Cockpit programs
  • Manage delivery of programs to customer in time, cost and quality according to scope, requirements and targets
  • Manage the customer regarding scope, targets, cost, time and expectations
  • Responsible for Business Case calculation of required resources, budget and technical requirement analysis of customer of quotations (RFI/RFQ)
  • Responsible to stay in budget of awarded programs and improve profitability
  • Implement effective management of scope, schedule, communication, risk, quality, supplier (int. / ext.) and monitoring
  • Manage and enhance the skills of software project management to achieve the targets and beyond
  • Providing accurate and aligned program reporting (Internally/Externally)
  • Implementing Product Life Cycle Processes within programs (Project Gating / Milestone Execution Plan) based on Harman PLM, automotive SPICE and required safety (ASIL) level
  • Observe market and customer and provide input to CPM strategy


Required Skills:

  • Track Record as successful team leader and program manager with experience 10+ years (automotive experience highly beneficial, e.g. head unit, infotainment, entertainment, RSE, navigation, connectivity, HMI, UI/UX, telematics, audio, displays, instrument cluster, head up displays)
  • Successfully steered high value, complex or strategic programs in global software development
  • Boardroom level program and line management experience
  • Broad technical and methodical knowledge in all areas of Product Life Cycle Management (generalist)
  • Strong leadership and customer focus
  • Ability to define individual aims corresponding to general strategy
  • Ability to integrate people, to resolve conflicts
  • Results driven, team player, change orientation, customer focus and self awareness on a superior level
  • Broad intercultural experience with English and German language fluent speaking and writing
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
