In conjunction with the Sr. Director, Global L&D, this individual will lead the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning programs for all professional levels and positions globally in the Leadership and Business Academies. The Director will have strong knowledge of training best practices to support HARMAN’s people and leadership development pipeline. He/she will cultivate relationships with senior business leaders to develop an agile needs assessment process and partner with internal experts to create engaging programs and training curriculums. The individual will lead cross-functional, complex initiatives, project teams and external resources, as applicable. This is a highly visible position that requires expertise in delivering high-impact people and leadership development programs across all levels in a global environment and strong leadership in a matrixed environment.  

 

Tasks / Responsibilities:

 

  • Partners with executive and senior level management to define short and long-term leadership, business, and high potential development needs
  • Establishes and maintains the long-term global learning roadmap for all HARMAN for the Leadership Academy
  • Is the key point of contact for Global Talent Management for high potentials programs including development centers, learning interventions for high potentials, and communication and reporting to top management as needed
  • Identifies and manages partnerships with renown leadership and professional development firms, and prestigious Executive Education institutions.
  • Creates and implements content delivery strategies that are compelling to the learners, builds business knowledge and leadership competences in a cost-effective manner using varied formal and informal modalities
  • Oversees governance of local learning roadmap development and implementation; defines global targets and ensures local alignment
  • Manages the communication of the learning plan for the Leadership and Business Academies using a variety of channels to create awareness of learning interventions, secure participation, and make the plan compelling and user attractive all the way
  • Has a pioneering role in exploring new learning technologies adjusted to the regional or country specific preferences
  • Responsible for 3 direct reports and 2-3 matrixed reports
  • Coaches and manages a team of learning professionals in various geographies

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Management or related field of study; Masters degree in Psychology, Learning, Management, or related subject would be preferred
  • Min of 12 years of experience driving executive and middle management learning in global matrixed organizations
  • Strategic perspective - proven ability to create learning roadmaps for leadership, business and functional development
  • Proven track record for leading global teams and delivering results in environments characterized by high growth, fast pace and or rapid change
  • Strong knowledge of learning best practices and theory with ability to implement pragmatic solutions tailored to meet specific business needs
  • Project management experience would be preferred
  • Business fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
