Position Summary:

The (Sr.) Product Sourcing Manager is responsible for Product Sourcing activities for Car Audio Europe and advocate for Procurement & the Supply Chain Organization into all relevant functions of the HARMAN organization (including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Program management, Finance, and Sales) and reports to the Senior Manager Product Sourcing. Also responsible for leading and developing customer RFQ BOM & BOL cost and track, monitor, drive actions to ensure material cost targets are achieved during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Product Sourcing activities for Car Audio Europe and advocate for Procurement into all relevant functions of the HARMAN organization.
  • Responsible to communicate business requirements and priorities to category management and align Procurement metrics with business unit P&L including translating category cost savings and negotiations.
  • Responsible for Total Landed BOM / BOL Cost in business cases to be quoted for all customer pursuits
  • Define cost targets and actions needed from Direct Materials, Logistics, and Outsourcing to support Best Initial Costs to win customer pursuits.
  • Drive organizational execution for Supply Chain and Procurement to meet program milestones for all pre-SOP programs.
  • Lead cost down initiatives for pre-SOP programs to achieve business case cost, quality, and delivery assumptions.
  • Lead dual sourcing and design to cost strategies during the Design Validation stage.
  • Serve as Program Gate 2 Approver for BOM/BOL costs and responsible for defining sourcing strategy for Car Audio Europe programs.
  • Owner for outsourcing Make vs. Buy decision process to deliver the target cost structure and customer requirements while enabling a flexible capacity model for HARMAN manufacturing.
  • Responsible for year over year cost reductions to achieve Division cost savings targets


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • 5+ years of related experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Management, Program Management, Program Sourcing
  • High financial aptitude and strong business acumen
  • Ability to work independently, establishing priorities, setting goals and decision-making

  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Able to deal effectively with ambiguity

  • Technical background or experience with speakers/amplifiers


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time
  • Must be fluent in English language
