(Senior) Software Engineer ADAS/AD Data Mapping (m/f/d)

Position Summary:

We are extending our ADAS/AD BU, which is working on the most disruptive innovations and new technologies in the context of the advanced driver assistant and autonomous car.

As an expert for ADAS/AD data map modelling, you will work within Harman’s ADAS/AD BU team, as a key driver behind the research, development, implementation and evaluation of algorithms in one or more of the following fields, relevant for ADAS/AD products and automated vehicles:

  • Manipulation of large-scale geo-referenced data sets
  • Multi-modal car sensor data fusion and data aggregation
  • Environmental modelling

 

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Work with large amounts of multi-modal car sensor data. This includes Camera, Radar, Lidar and other car sensors (GPS, IMU, CAN, etc) that may be available.
  • Implement algorithms to fuse multi-modal car sensor data to create wholistic environmental models for the connected car. Must be aware with mathematical frameworks such as Bayesian networks, Kalman filters, Dempster-Shafer and the Central Limit Theorem.
  • Hands-on programming to create portable, modular, high-performance code, deployable into a complex cloud-based data processing pipeline; self-explanatory code style; creating documentation; ability to lead SW development by example
  • Analyze existing solutions, propose new ideas/approaches and implement them
  • As part of a matrix organization work with engineers, designers, testers and managers as needed to help integrate, evaluate and productize your solutions

 

Required Skills:

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar qualification
  • Proficient in Java, C/C++ and/or Python
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in one of the following areas: sensor-based object detection (landmarks, road markings), sensor data fusion, HD Map creation, simulation, geo-data processing, surveying or robotics
  • 2 - 5 years of experience with data from vehicle fleets; optimization and data transfer
  • Experience with localization, sensor technology (Lidar, Radar, Camera), and environmental models is highly desirable
  • Experience with automotive development processes (ASPICE)
  • Self-confidence, high team spirit and excellent communication skills
  • English fluently written and spoken; German is a plus
  • Experience with georeferenced data or automotive/autonomous driving is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
