Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with program management and 3rd-party laboratories to determine component test

schedules and resources, budgets, and deadlines.

  • Performs automotive based EMC tests, trains support staff, and gathers support equipment in preparation for test support at 3rd-party laboratories.
  • Resolves test disputes by reviewing test specifications, pass/fail criteria, and test processes with

design engineer and test technicians and management, making modifications where necessary.

  • Analyzes EMC test data, authors EMC test plans, EMC test report and prepare customer DVP&R.
  • ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation support.
  • Develop and write EMC test procedures and work instructions.
  • Must be able to prepare cost analysis and schedule testing with outside test laboratories.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with outside test laboratories, customers and internal

team members.

  • Must be familiar with EMC test requirements, test methods, and setup.
  • Hold reviews with internal and external customers.



Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering Technology, BS Computer Science, BS Physics or equivalent minimum requirement.
  • 3+ years EMC qualification or related experience, automotive industry background highly
  • Advanced EMC and test solutions knowledge for automotive industries.
  • Physical Demands

Limited manual dexterity required.


Work requires handling light weight materials or equipment with no special speed or exertion.


Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features. Must be able to travel to Harman, test lab, and customer sites as needed.


Negligible. Little or no exposure to hazards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Automotive EMC Testing
  • Ability to run Automotive EMC Test methods for Asian and North American Automotive OEMs
  • Results driven individual
  • Must be able to function in Dynamic Work Conditions and adjust to changing customer needs

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
