Position Summary: Interface with relevant groups to ensure that necessary validation activities are included in the project plans and that all planned qualification activities occur.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct or indirect reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for responsible products.
  • Maintaining and updating reports, files, and test data as required.
  • Supporting and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.
  • Develops and prepares preliminary drawings or sketches showing proposed specifications, design characteristics, wiring diagrams, BOM (Bill of Material), etc. and also makes recommendations regarding these items for consideration and evaluation by Manager.
  • Schedule testing activities for an assigned project, e.g. estimate required hours and record actual vs. estimated, assist with and resolve scheduling problems for assigned project/job and determine feasibility.
  • Works from customer requirements, detailed drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, as well as verbal and written instructions.
  • Use multi-meter, o-scope, analyzers, digital analysis tools, signal generators, soldering equipment and computers to design and document test setups.
  • Responsible to perform other tasks as business needs require or as assigned by management.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Electrical Engineering or equivalant, (i.e Physics or Applied Sciences) 
  • 0-3 years relevant engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to be flexible, prioritize and manage multiple projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of specific lab equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with a small team of technicians to complete projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Visio.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience with audio components: speakers, amplifiers, head-units, etc, and how they are designed, operate, and interact with each other
  • Experience in computer languages: C/C++, LabView/LabWindows, etc.
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques
  • Prior experience working with a team of technicians
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems (i.e. TS16949 and ISO17025)
  • Familiar with automotive communication protocols

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Farmington Hills, MI
