Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise as a lead electrical design engineers to develop new products and designs of Harman Professional products. This position includes responsibilities for leading project teams, and often requires the engineer to fulfil design responsibilities in addition to manage a project or even simultaneous projects.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has supervisory responsibilities for the electrical design team members.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and surveillance of projects in the Electrical Design department. Organization of periodically held department meetings, information of employees.
  • Work distribution in the electrical design team considering workload and skill levels.
  • Organize and take part in prototype builds and evaluations.
  • Organize and take part in design reviews and final validation activities.
  • Conduct design reviews and evaluate engineering solutions
  • Participate and support for team members personal and technical development
  • Developing and tuning of electrical components and applications within new product development projects.
  • Thorough work in engineering of electrical designs, continouus improvement and cost down work.
  • Close cooperation with internal and external development teams and suppliers.
  • Meets the individual target settings and helps to fulfill the target setting of the electrical Design group.
  • Generates and gives instructions for guidelines for mechanical design and documentation in close cooperation with PMO, AME, Product management, internal and external teams.
  • Plan and execute tasks defined by the new product development and implementation project plans.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Masters Degree in Electrical engineering, 5+ years of experience in product development. This position requires the incumbent have proven oral and written communication and demonstrated people management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of required steps to bring product from concept to production, fulfiling the needs of change management during the product life cycles.
  • High level of understanding of business processes and competitor monitoring is desirable.
  • Direct leadership experience for engineering teams in a size of 2-5 engineers.
  • Ability to support less experienced colleagues in an effective way.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLM systems (preferred PTC, Windchill.)
  • Understanding of DFSS principles
  • Deep Knowledge of ECAD systems (Mentor Graphics)
  • Experience in electrical, EMC simulations
  • Project management from concept creation, through prototyping until manufacturing lauch.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Budapest HU.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to function in a team environment, in close cooperation with PMO and Product management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, scientific and technical journals, government regulations
  • Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.
  • Ability to handle a variety of differing projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate precisely across cultural and global boundaries.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, regulatory standards, and other compliance related documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management and employees.
