Position Summary: Handle and maintain all the OSS related tools (provided by Blackduck) used in Harman.

Central point of contact for all OSS team members regarding issues like: new projects for scan, new configs, generating reports, etc.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Expert for Open Source Software (OSS) license compliance tool
  • Functional leadership of OSS identification and OSS management including execution and coordination of administrative tasks
  • Central responsibility for Harman OSS management tools and process adaptation and optimization
  • Conception and implementation of tool chain for standardized source code scanning
  • Continuous improvement of established tools, interfaces and processes
  • Configuration and implementation of new tools, extension, updates, upgrades
  • 1st and 2nd level support
  • Definition of tools and scripts, which are necessary to improve usability of tools (no project specific solutions)
  • Development of tools and scripts (partly/on demand in collaboration with partners). Responsibility for results, quality and rollout
  • Take care for common usability of tools and processes for all customer projects
  • Responsible for tool documentation structure, verification and validation of tool documentation content
  • Collecting and analyzing user requests for tools extensions
  • Create training concepts, prepare and coordinate trainings, and materials, verification and validation of trainings and training material for usage of OSS tool

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor in an Engineering discipline, Computer Engineering, SW-Development
  • Knowledge about OSS licensing models and impacts to software development by using OSS
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • OSS usage in development process
  • OSS analysis and management tools (Blackduck)
  • Fluent technical English skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software development process
  • Server and workstation operating systems - Windows and Linux
  • Experience with build processes and continuous integration
  • Experience in providing tool support, ideally in a helpdesk environment
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Background in Automotive industry or other comparable industry
  • Willingness to self-improve knowledge in the responsible area
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in international team setup
  • Technical knowledge in CA tools (PC-Lint, Flexelint, Crucible, Codesonar, Fisheye, Gerrit) is a plus
